Washington, DC — December 5, 2016 – IDC’s Los Angeles chapter will host a screening, sponsored by chapter leader Toni Azzi, of the documentary ‘Our Last Stand‘, on December 7th at 8:00 pm at the Ahrya Fine Arts Theater in Beverly Hills.

Produced by In Altum Productions and Directed by IDC Production and Media Consultant Jordan Allott, the one hour documentary in partnership with IDC sheds the light on Christians’ persecution in the Middle East through the eyes of Helma, an Assyrian American activist from New York who goes on a journey to Iraq and Syria, bringing back untold stories of sufferings, hopes, despair, courage, and demands.

Governor Jerry Brown, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, federal and state legislators of Los Angeles, local religious leaders, and representatives of ecumenical organizations and diaspora communities have been invited to meet members of IDC’s Los Angeles Chapter at this event.

IDC Director of Marketing and Media Communications Ninar Keyrouz, co-producer of the film, explains why this unique documentary is an IDC nationwide advocacy project: “IDC believes that Our Last Stand can raise awareness for the persecuted minorities in Syria and Iraq, urging American citizens and policy makers to act for them. The film unveils the existence of ancient Christian communities threatened by ISIS in their ancestral homelands, and the crucial role these communities play in the Middle East.”

Both filmmakers, Helma and Jordan, will be available to answer any press questions. For questions to IDC, please E-mail press@indefenseofchristians.org.

To RSVP for the event, please E-mail Ms. Sophie White at swhite@azziadvisors.com
