Washington, DC– In Defense of Christians (IDC), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for Christians and religious minorities in the Middle East, commends the governments of Israel, Bahrain, and the United States of America for facilitating a peace deal and normalization of relations between Israel and Bahrain.
U.S. President Donald J. Trump announced the agreement on Friday following a phone call between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and himself.
“While there are many contentious issues left to be discussed in the Middle East Peace Process and many injustices that Christians in Bahrain, Israel, and across the Middle East continue to face, today’s peace agreement is a positive step for Christians in the Middle East.” said IDC President Toufic Baaklini.
“Politics should not stand in the way of any Christian being able to visit the sites of the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ,” he added.
